Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Pinnel handles information. Pinnel is developed by Mustafa Can Erdem under Cobalative Studios.
Pinnel is designed to minimize data collection. The app does not require an account, does not use CloudKit, and does not send your content to a Cobalative server.
Information Pinnel collects
Pinnel does not collect personal information or usage analytics.
There is no analytics SDK, advertising SDK, crash-reporting SDK, tracking pixel or remote user profile operated by Pinnel or Cobalative Studios.
Information stored locally
Depending on the tools you use, Pinnel may store the following information locally on your Mac:
- Enabled tools and their order
- Layout and language preferences
- Quick Note content
- Timer state and general app settings
- References required for user-selected folders or files
- The last known purchase entitlement state provided by StoreKit
Pinnel does not create a hidden cloud archive of processed texts, screenshots, OCR results, translations or summaries.
On-device processing
Supported OCR, translation and Apple Intelligence features are designed to run on the Mac using Apple-provided system technologies. Pinnel does not send this content to a Cobalative backend.
OCR and image tools
Images supplied to Extract Text or Summarize Image are processed on the device. Pinnel does not upload those images to its own servers.
Translation
Translation uses Apple system services and downloaded language resources. A language resource may need to be downloaded by macOS before offline translation is available.
Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence features rely on capabilities made available by macOS. Their availability depends on the Mac, language, region and system configuration.
Clipboard and screenshots
Pinnel reads clipboard content only when you deliberately activate a compatible tool. It does not maintain a general clipboard history.
If you enable optional screenshot detection, Pinnel monitors only the folder you explicitly select for newly created screenshot files. It does not continuously record your screen and does not scan older files in bulk.
External AI apps
Ask AI can copy your prompt and open a third-party desktop application selected by you, such as ChatGPT or Gemini.
Once content is transferred to or pasted into another application, that application processes it under its own terms and privacy policy. Pinnel does not control the third party’s network use or data handling.
Permissions
Pinnel requests permissions only when a related feature is used. Depending on enabled tools, these may include:
- Calendar access for calendar information
- Camera access for Mirror
- Access to a folder explicitly selected by you
- Accessibility or automation access for optional third-party app handoff
Denying an optional permission prevents the relevant feature from working but should not prevent unrelated Pinnel tools from being used.
Purchases
Purchases and entitlement checks are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. Pinnel does not receive your full payment card details. Apple’s own terms and privacy practices apply to those transactions.
Children’s privacy
Pinnel does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any other user because it does not operate an account, analytics or advertising system.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Pinnel’s features or legal obligations change. The effective date shown above will be updated when material changes are published.
